Bascom Assisted Living & Memory Care
2375 S. Bascom Avenue, San Jose, CA 95008
Advocacy Development Partners, LLC (ADP) is pleased to announce that the City of San Jose City Council unanimously approved a Conditional Use Permit on September 29, 2020 that allows the construction of an 83 unit state-licensed Residential care Facility for the Elderly with approximately 72,380 square feet of above grade floor area, and approximately 30,240 square feet of basement containing 7,750 square feet of activity rooms, staff room, and utility rooms, and 22,450 square feet of parking and circulation on an approximately 1.23 gross acre site at 2375 & 2395 South Bascom Avenue, San Jose, CA
"This facility underscores the need for assisted living and memory care for senior residents in San Jose," said District 9 Councilmember, Pam Foley, who represents the District. "This project meets the market demand in a fashion that is least intrusive to the overall community by terracing the building into the single-family neighborhood of Dry Creek and creating fabulous outdoor garden spaces for the residents."
The Assisted Living and Memory Care facility is designed to provide multiple common areas and activity rooms including: a theater, therapy salon room, activity rooms, multiple lounges, arts and crafts room, library/media room and a wellness center. These spaces are intended to provide the clients with spaces for daily activities. There will be dedicated rooms for vendors and 3rd party services, such as barbers, beauticians, and physical and occupational therapists. This amenity-rich and carefully crafted community will exceed expectations with farm-to-fork opportunities, a Wine Room for family members and ample secure outdoor areas.
To meet the diverse demands of seniors in the City of San Jose, the communities will provide:
* Gourmet meals served in a restaurant-style dining room
* On and off-site recreational and social activities
* Activity rooms with scheduled social events, games and Montessori based programs including arts and crafts
* An onsite salon and day spa
* Several outdoor gardens, walking paths, and landscaped courtyards
* Transportation to activities and medical appointments with a community van and car.
When asked about next steps, Paul Bunton, AIA of ADP stated "we expect the project to break ground mid 2021 with an opening date of Spring 2023".
